Cook Rice In Coconut Oil So You Can Burn Much More Calories!

Rice is one of the most popular foods around the world. It can be eaten alone or in combination with other foods, and is easily available, cheap and healthy, which is why people love it. However, there’s one problem with it – cooked traditionally, rice can make you gain weight.

Rice is rich in starch which can make you gain weight and is bad for your health especially if you’re a diabetic. A cup of rice has about 420 calories, which isn’t exactly ideal if you’re trying to lose weight. Starches turn to sugar in the body, which can later turn to fat, which means that we shouldn’t consume rice so often. However, a new scientific study has found a way to enjoy all the benefits rice offers without the risk of gaining weight.

According to a Sri Lankan study, you can cut the calories in rice in half if you cook it in coconut oil instead of water. This means that you can still eat rice without the fear of gaining weight, and still enjoy the benefits of the healthy grain.

Here’s how the process goes: boil some water in a skillet, then add a teaspoon of coconut oil and put the rice next. Now, simmer the grain until it’s nice and soft, then remove the skillet from the heat and put the rice in your fridge for 12 hours. Eat the rice afterwards, and you’ll no longer have to worry about gaining weight or high blood sugar levels.

When cooking the rice in coconut oil, the oil absorbs the excess starch and makes it resistant to digestive enzymes. Leaving the rice in the fridge for half a day is also important as it activates an enzyme known as amylase in the grain. When the rice releases the starch afterwards, it activates other compounds in the grain, and the sugar turns to resistant starch in the body. You can reheat the rice safely afterwards, as the coconut oil protects the composition of the rice.

Although the study found a way to cut down the calories in rice, it didn’t say which type of rice is best and if another oil works better than coconut oil. The combination is far healthier than the traditional way of cooking rice, but rice isn’t so healthy as many people think. In order to stay fit and healthy, you should add fiber-rich foods into your diet such as mushrooms, potatoes and green leafy vegetables.
